    Has anybody found a maintance free battery that will fit in a 81 XJ650?

    Nope, not without modifications to the battery tray/airbox - and I've looked.

    AFAIK, no one makes an AGM or Gel cell battery in the size/shape that we need.

    What about the dry cell batteries? They are maintenance free. Do they require modification? I have seen them and I like them but they are a bit pricy.
