Meh. Last bike I had before I got the XJs was a Cow-a-sock-i. Thing ate clutch cables like they were candy.

I'm a die hard Kawasaki fan. Typically - if a bike is "eating" any part it's because something is worn out or not installed properly, and has absolutely nothing to do with the brand of the bike.

Really. Ever do a valve adjustment on a bike with shims UNDER the buckets?

I will have to disagree with earz_cd
if brands does not matter, why is Honda/Toyota are rated much higher in reliability/resale value over the big three.
Also I personally feel Yamaha/Honda motorcycles are just one step up above Kaw-suzuki, I am sure others may feel differently.

Maybe there is something wrong with it, or
maybe the price is $3,000.00, and it is all a big misunderstanding. :D

someone from the honda forum called, I emailed the guy he will take $275 for it.
Just called the guy. Here's the issues:
    Needs 2 new tires
    Fork seals
choke doesn't work, need to use starter fluid.
    2nd gear doesn't work (synchronizer?)
been laid down twice but minimal damage to clutch cover and turn signal
bike has 17000 but moter has 25000 or vice versa I can't remember which
    He says it runs...............
    Has clean title

At my age and stage of life I don't want to buy a box of parts and try to make something work. I would only buy something I could ride away. Its ok if it needs new fork seals and brake pads and carbs cleaned but it better be road worthy.

I have seen many bikes for sale where the guy starts tearing it apart and then throws up his hands and tries to sell it. I'm not interested in cleaning up someone's failed foray into mechanicsville.
