    G'day all,
i went to check the front brake master cylinder fluid level, simple enough but welcome to my world.the two screws that hold on the lid for the resivor
are stuck solid. the screws are a philpps drive my guess there area MTM5X20CSKX.
Ihave tried locite freeze it,crc penetr8,tapping screwdrver ito the drive, going over to the bro's place to different drive bits to see if we can get a better fit as the drive in the screw if just about had it.
I can only think of another 2 ideas,
easy out(screw extractor),or drill the heads off to get the lid off, to get to the thread &put something like multigrips or things of that nature.
any other ideas to get the screws out.
replacing the screws is no problem as i work in a nut & bolt hradware store.

    thank you in advance

I have had good luck in the past with stripped screw heads using a left hand drill bit. Once the bits gets a bite, it seems to back the screws out easily. Granted, this is in an industrial wash down scenario, but the theory should apply well.

I had to use a screw extractor on one of mine but it came right out using it.

True story: So I'm in the local auto parts, with the extractor-raped screw IN MY HAND, looking for a replacement. I hand it to the counter guy. He looks at it and says "wow; did you do this?" (Referring to how torn up the screw was, I assumed.) I said "yeah, with a screw extractor." He said (are you ready) "did it work?" I don't remember my exact reply, I was THINKING "no sunshine it's still at home STUCK IN THE BIKE!" (He didn't have a replacement either.)

Still waiting Fitz. Did it work????

I swear sometimes there are people who would forget to breathe if breathing weren't an autonomic reflex. Great story!

Parts guy story. Go to Advance Auto to get Buick 350 exhaust manifold gaskets for the 73 Century. Young kid at the counter pulls out the keyboard and asks,"What year?" You should have seen the look on his face when I told him, "All of 'em!" Kinda looked like Vanna White when nobody gets a letter!!!
