Anyone put one on an XJ?

I'm trying to find out what problems I will have to deal with when doing it.

The sportster tank is made to sit on a single tube backbone. The tunnel in the tank isn't wide enough to fit on a stock frame. I saw a picture on the internet where someone took a sledge hammer to the bottom of a sporty tank to make it fit a honda. It was a rat bike.

You will either have to widen the tunnel on the tank or redo the backbone on the bike. Or you may be able to mount it really high on the backbone. I've seen some choppers with flat bottom tanks where you can see part of the backbone under the tank.

Theres no reason ya cant.... depends on how much fab work ya wanna do.

ya could always frisco it like turkey said. (mount it on top of the backbone)

i got a fatboy tank on mine, just fabbed the mounts. not a stock frame but the only limits are what yer willin to do.

    GO FOR IT!!

I looked back 4 pages in mods but did not find the post.
