    Also, that screw is likely a fairly generic fastener. I'll check it out when I get a second. You can probably pick up a replacement for about $0.06 at Ace Westlake.

    That spacer is another story. I have one for my running bike, but I'm missing the one for my parts bike. There's a guy at my office with a miniature mill and lathe. I'm going to see if he'll help me make a few of these, since they seem to be hard to come by.

    Does anyone happen to know if these are steel or aluminum or happen to have the exact measurements? (I'm assuming steel.)

    I just checked the screw that holds the gas cap in place. It is indeed a standard size:

    M5 x 0.8 x 1.0

    M5 = 5mm diameter
    0.8 = 0.8 threads per millimeter (or 8 threads per centimeter, if you like)
    1.0 = 1.0 cm in length from the BOTTOM of the head to the end of the screw.

    Mine is a button head screw (round on top, flat underneath) that takes a Philips driver. I would stick with that, unless you find a button or similar cap screw that takes a hex driver. A cap screw - which I usually prefer - might not fit with the gas cap closed.

    And you want a lock washer. A quick look at mine makes me think it needs replacing...

    As for the spacer, I'll have to pull apart my front end before too long when I rebuild the forks (and the brakes). When I do that, I can measure the outer diameter and width of the spacer for you, in case you want to try to machine one. The inner diameter should be the same as the OD of the axle, of course, perhaps larger by the merest fraction of an inch.

    right now I have a 3/4" pipe fitting im using as a spacer so I can roll the bike around with out the tire and wheel flopping around. But I defidently need the correct spacer for when this thing gets on the road.
