Perhaps a silly question, but here goes...

I bought a set of carbs on eBay. My thoughts were that I could rebuild them at my leisure and then swap them for the carbs on the bike and end up with a spare rack. They arrived today, and the ad said they were from a "1982 Maxim 750 with YICS", but before I start tearing things apart and ordering a lot of parts, is there any way to verify that they are indeed the right carbs for my '82 XJ750 Maxim?

    Thanks,

The 650 and 750 carbs are the same externally so pull one of the float bowls and check the jet sizes. 750 should have a 120 main and 40 pilot.

    That makes sense. Thanks, BlueMaxim.

Thanks goodness a Swiss Army knife comes with a magnifying glass...they are indeed a 120 main and a 40 pilot. Time to get to work.

    Thanks again,
