Hello just signed up, I have an 81 750 seca UK model hitachi carbs. I`m in Somers Australia I`m the 2nd owner, had it since 83 tho it has been sitting in the shed for 16 years. I had previously done a lot of trips on it, its done 42000klms.Finally felt inspired to get it going again and have been looking at this site a lot lately there is a lot of very useful information here, thankyou to all I have read. So I thought I would sign up. Have cleaned the carbs yes cleaned following methods I`ve read here put in new butterfly seals and other bitsnpieces from chacal/len {are they the same person?) A question- the butterfly position on the shaft- (everything that came out of 1234 went back into 1234, idle screw backed off)-I cant adjust their position to completely eliminate a vsmall light gap less than the thickness of apiece of paper. They were like this b4 I started and had never been apart. I take it to be the result of a mass produced machine made item. Any comments?

Hi Bushy, is that the Somers near Balnaring? If so I'm in Mt Eliza, across the peninsula.
Re-do the bench sync' something aint right, the # 3 should be able to close right up, then open the width of a paper clip, then set the others to that. Wiz.

Hello wizard yes that Somers.I meant when replacing butterfly screws, 2 of, while reassembling after repairs, I tried the bench synch before dismantling and feel comfortable with how its done. Will be doing all the other things tuning wise that I have read here once it is all back together, other things to do first.
