I am in the process of gathering all the parts for my build project. Not finding the style I want in 7/8 handlebars/risers though. Has anyone made the switch to 1"??? Anyone know where can I find items that will mate with the Maxim as far as... master cylinder w/1" clamp - clutch handle - start /kill switch - headlight switch...
On a budget...as always.... but I really need to know, if anyone has done a 1" swap, what the issues are. Thanks!!!

Newer sportbikes have 1" bars. I reamed out the tree to accept my bars and works good. I'm going to use a small master cylinder for my front brake.
    Also try bikebandit, jpcycle, etc.

If your willing to buy new grips/bar controles, then like sgary said, all you'd need to do is ream out the tree clamps to fit the 1" bar.

Or another option is 1" bars with 7/8 center and ends - to fit the controles and the trees. I've seen that done, but I have no idea where to get a set, or how much that would cost.

Yeah, the risers and bars are not so much of a problem....So what did you guys use for your throttle/MC/switches on the right and clutch/switches on the left? I have seen harley controls but how do you get their MC (9/16) to mate up to the 10mm banjo bolt? ( I'm assuming that is what the braekline connects to..)

Ok...so after living on-line for 12 hours yesterday I think I have it figured out ....with 1 exception.
The XJ bikes have a 10mm banjo bolt on the MC. ok...so yeah we all knew that...
The aftermarket MC have a 9/16 bore (single disc brake ) or an 11/16 bore (dual disc) and that brings up the ???s
Should i use an 11/16 bore and get a single orifice banjo bolt?
Will a 9/16 bore work ok??
How do I get the XJ brake line to mate with the SAE Banjo bolt....Should I make my own brake lines??? I hope these questions are making sense...
    Thanks guys!!

Got 'em and they're on they way....
I'll have to elongate the lower large wholes in the triple tree by about 1/16.... but I'll start out at 1/32 and tweak it in from there...
    Yeah baby!!!

I think I got it figured out.....Read on an HD forum the 9/16 uses the 10mm banjo and 11/16 uses the 12mm. If that doesn't work then I'll just make a custom line that fits the MC on one end and the bike's fitting on the other. Been checking out the prices of braided line and I should be sble to do the whole thing for about $30....I think....
