nitrous is absolutly safe and will not harm your motor if set up correctly.

Its not the Nitrous (its not nos, nos is a brand ) that you have to worry about if its in small doses, say 50hp. Its the extra fuel needed to support the Nitrous. That's the biggest issue faced with carburetted bikes. How do you supply the extra fuel when you hit the nos when you don't have a fuel pump. It would be allot of stuffing around.

 

You could say that. These and other substances would not be the problems they are if folks would simply apply common sense. Too much of anything is bad for you, plain and simple. Moderation in all things is paramount to good living. Heck, even nuclear waste can be tolerated (though common sense tells me I don't want anything to do with it) by the human body. Ignorance may be bliss but it also injures, maims and kills countless people every day. Darwinism at its finest if you ask me. Knowledge is power!

not really, you use a solenoid valve and injector, for carb's bikes you use an adjustable preassure regulator, just run a t- fitting off your fuel supply line

 

I agree, moderation is key. I believe everyone should have the right to decided what they want to put into thier bodies. Wether is crack, pcp, pot, alcohol, or coffee.

Since i assume you're not going to reduce the compression ratio in your XJ, how do you plan to retard the timing when the NO2 hits, to prevent detonation?

Or is that only with blown engines?

I've never worked with NO2. Just big block chevy's and alcohol. (where you can actually get away with MORE advance.)

 

if your timing is set correctly you should have to adjust it. You can also adjust the ammount of nitrous going into the inlet during the combustion phase.

 

As i said im talking carburetted bikes, the don't have a fuel pump. The tank is gravity feed to the carburetors. Which wouldn't have anywhere near enough pressure to flow through an injector, it probably wouldn't even flow through the solenoid. Also how will you control the injector? will you have 1 per cylinder? are you going to run an ecu to drive the injectors?

A Fuel injected bike is a different story.

The Zex kit on my car requires a minimum of 48lbs of pressure and 200lpm flow to supply the correct amount of fuel, and that's only for a 75hp shot.

The enrichment circuit (choke) really doesn't do much of anything at WOT, so, no it wouldn't work.
