So I finally did my tank liner, I used to Kreem three step kit and it worked great very easy just a little time consuming! if you've never used one, step one disolves rust, step two drys and etches the metal and step three is the liner, the whole process took about three days but now that it's cured, the inside of the tank is almost like it's ceramic coated. I got alot of mixed feelings about the kit but with my rust problem on the new tank I bought I felt the liner neccesary so I went ahead and did it.

When done right they are a life saver. One bit of advice. Be very judicious with the use of fuel additives such as seafoam. I had done my XS1100 with that kit and it was great. Never worried about rust again. One spring I decided to add a high concentration of seafoam to the fuel to clean the carbs. It destroyed the liner job. Six months later I was looking for a new tank. The seafoam discolored the liner and finally big sections started to peel away.
