Hiya. I'm new to the forum and to bikes in general. I just bought an '85 XJ700N today (air-cooled) for $500. Well technically I bought two but only one had a title, PO had been using the other for parts. She's in need of some serious love though and was just wondering if anyone knows of a do it yourself repair manual for this style of bike or recommendations on where to find diagrams, manuals, etc.? I've found some info on the web, but looking for something a little more comprehensive. Thanks for your help.

Or you could get your manual from Chacal. 59.95 plus a few bucks shipping.

I ordered one from him last week while I was at work (I work night shift) and when I got out of bed that afternoon I was expecting to see it on the front porch!

I'm betting it will be here by Tuesday. And then I will order the valve shims and the gaskets and the............!!!

Welcome to this forum. I look forward to reading it every day!!!!

    Four letters... JCVD!

Wait a minute, that's not right. XJCD!! A comprehensive collection of manuals along with tips and suggestions for our bikes. It also includes a parts cross-reference which comes in handy when you're trying to figure out what parts interchange with which bike.

welcome to xj bikes, A service manual is a great place to start also take a peek throught the suggested faq's forum that is where you will find the most detailed instruction from the best this site has to offer! please post pic's when you can as I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see your XJ, also please add your XJ info to your sig so the wizards don't have to ask every time you ask a question! have fun and ride safe
