I have in my shop right now a 82 1100 with carb trouble (gas leaking out of the air box) . I'm going to get the carbs up and going, Change the oil and filter and then the bike will need a new owner. I have not figured out how to get pictures to work on here. I'm going to ask one of the locals here to help me. & Post later

Here is the specs on this bike.
    37745 Miles on the Odometer
Mac 4 into 1 Header Chrome is good and just starting to surface rust on the head pipes up by the head.
    Stock air cleaner
Seat is redone and shows alittle age.
Lights and gauges seem to work well.
The old owner claims the clutch is working fine and had been redone about 8K ago.
Battery is good and charging system works.
Cables and switches all are in good shape and seem to work well.
This bike has not been dumped or crashed and the chrome is in pretty good condition.
The fork seals have been replaced and are not leaking.

Ok now for what it needs
Gas tank has a dent about the size of a golf ball
The Yamaha and Maxim emblems need restoration But they are still there.
The brake calipers need to be rebuilt and the master cylinder needs a sight glass (its fogged over)
    Set of tires
    Needs a set of horns

Otherwise this is a pretty complete bike other than the exhaust has been changed out. Let me know if you are interested. I can send pics to your email. Just PM me. If no one here wants it I'm going to e-bay it here by the end of March. I'm going to leave the price open depending on what the new owner may want to see or get done prior to taking delivery of this bike. Make me an offer I can't refuse.

    Thanks
    MN- Maxims

Size your pics to 500x500 pixels. usually that is the problem - the too big message is a bit hidden.

Sounds like a nice bike - wish I was closer..

THe carbs came off today and the trouble was the o-rings on the float valves shrunk up and gas was bypassing them. Found a few other electrical issues but I will be able to resolve them promptly.

Took the carbs and went trought them and found two mixture screws in bad shape. The #4 carb mixture screw hole drilled oversize and the mixture screw was in there with epoxie. I took a spare carb rack apart and I'm going to use a different #4 carb. Going to try to get the carbs togeather today and run the bike.
Did a compression test and all cylinders are within 15 psi. The wires I was concerned about have been repaired. The oil was drained out and let drip out overnight. I'm going to fill the crankcase with Castrol 20/50 and install a new Wix oil filter.
The front brake calipers are still sticky. I'm going to work on them and see if they need rebuild or not. I will post progress here so for those interested can PM me. This is not a bad bike and needs a new owner with some time to so some detail work. I would keep it but I already have too many now.

Looks nice Ron. I wish I had room to store it. Otherwise I might interested if I can work that out. Might give you a call later today. I may run up and take a look if you are still around.

    Update on repairs,
Got the brakes freed up and flushed the brake fluid. Got #4 carb out of the carb soak and checked over good. Looks like I can start swapping parts. The throttle shafts seals didn't make it through the carb dip. The seals were so hard the one I could get at just crumbled. I should be able to come up with a few good ones.
So with alittle luck I should be able to fire the engine up later this week.

I filled the crankcase with fresh oil and new filter. I see a little drip underneath so I'll get under there and check that out. The oil sender was not leaking it was the shifter side cover bolts loose.

I havent... but i mean that the more things that are mechanically sound the more its worth, maybe i should have said its worth goes, not price? I didn't mean it in an aoffensive way... just saying, thats a bike without an enine is worth less than a bike with one.... sorry
