You'd be missing at the very least: the surge tank, oil feed and return line to lube and cool the turbo. The space to mount it all...and a couple pistons, valves and head if ya did ! Lol

hey which reminds me. we had a kid working last year who ( I SWEAR TO GOD) put a toggle switch in his dash ( 1997 dodge p/u) put in a power inverter . dismantled his dads leaf blower rigged it to his intake and wired it up had a fancy red light on the dash that was bright as heck .

he drove it like that for 2 months and figured out he wasn't doing anything at all but being a tard LOL

Very possible but lots of work. I have 5 turbos in my barn right now, 3 of which I have been kicking around throwing on my 900...but far more work than I can put into that project right now. I've turbocharged a few things(including a John Deere lawnmower :) ) and it seems simple in principle but far more in execution. If you're still interested I can point you in the right direction if you want to PM me.
In the meantime, check out these sites...
www.theturboforums.com Look for posts by Uncle Bob(Cycle turbocharging guru)
    http://unclebobsturbos.com/newbie.html Great place to start
Find the book "Motorcycle Turbocharging, Supercharging, and Nitrous Oxide:A complete guide to forced induction on the modern motorcycle engine" at your library. Otherwise I picked up my copy from amazon for only 10 bucks I think.
Maybe if I get the time(and money for more parts) this next season I'll turbo mine.
    Good luck!!!

That TL1000R would probably be a lot more fun than what the end result of ALL that work would be. I don't think it's worth the headache.

The Max and Turbo's have a few different Engine Parts.
You'll have to check-in with the Turbo-People; but I think the Turbo has a Hardened Crank and Higher-Performance Connecting Rods.

Send a PM off to Injuneer.
He's got deep background modifying a Turbo.
But, if you try hanging a Turbo on a Max ... You're going to need a 1st Class Fabricator and TIG Welding God.

Ok, well I guess I was just wondering. That's cool though...frees up money for a blower on the TL?

A couple weeks afo I piblished a link to the Portland, OR Craigslist. Somebody was selling a NOS system for a 4 cyl. Motorcycle. That would give you some get up and go and a lot easier than a turbo!

Those mods will make a difference in how the engine reacts when you twist the throttle. It may be good, it may be bad, but it will be different no doubt. The one thing you will need to remember is the lower end (bearings, rods, pistons, and transmission, etc. will take a beating if there is alot more power sent down there. I assume these engines are engineered to take just so much stress with the stock carburation, air intake and exhaust and any increase in output power will just make the lower end of the engine "take a licking" and start ticking....more than you may want. I assume the lower end will need to be re-done, rebuilt or beefed up to some extent to take the added horses you will make with a turbo or any other extreme mods. I may be wrong, so I'm just saying.
