What brand is this header? It came on the bike when I bought it, not sure how I should jet this as the bobber project is going open header with a turn down on it.

+2 -- I'd almost guarantee that's a MAC header from a 4-1 pipe - the flat bar exhaust clams give it away.

Yup. looks like it's a MAC header to me. You can almost mount a car muffler on that header!!! I've had a tractor muffler on mine at one time, but it was way too loud!!

Yeah it reminds me of the Kerker header for the VMax due to the collector size. I'm keeping it open with a turn down unless it's unbearably loud for me. :D Just curious as to what you would think for jetting with this header open at about a 900-1000 DA

There's no way to tell until you do some WO plug chops.
Looks like you'll be running pods too.

I used to have that same header on mine and I don't think you will want to run it with just a turn-down on it. It will be rediculously loud to say the least. When I took mine off, I remove the muffler first and started it with just the header on it. Way too loud for any normal person to ride. You will atleast need some kind of muffler on there or your ears will be ringing.

TheHound - I was more so hoping somebody in the same area could chime in with a jet size etc, I figured on jetting, pulling plugs etc.... A place to start would be nice though. Sounds like I'll be starting at stock.
Yes I'll be running pods, the bike is under the knife right now for a rigid project I have going on. I hope to get that under way by the end of this week/weekend and be done in a week with the chassis.

PainterD - Who said I was normal? ;) Honestly though, we'll see what happens with it I guess. I do have the muffler I pulled off of it, but it was so quiet it sounded like moped. Obviously we want a little of both, quiet and loud, but I'm trying to hide the exhaust on this thing under the bike too. We'll see what I can come up with.

If your looking to keep the exhaust under the bike (like a Buell) your going to need some type of turn-out to deflect the heat from the exhaust from blowing directly at the tire. You may want to look into those small tractor mufflers (the shorty ones look they will work) and just paint it with some high temp BBQ paint? Just an idea.

I planned on going with a turn down and a collector insert muffler like a Vortex etc...
