I picked up an 83 XJ 750 Seca as some of you may already know as I have asked plenty of questions on here. Anyways, I am completely new to the XJ bikes and wanted to make this one my own. I picked it up and it needed some work, the bike was able to be ridden but it had some problems that were just bugging me.

Here are some before pics, some in between pics and where the bike is as of today.

This is the bike as it looks now. I had to put on a new gas tank and new front forks. I also picked up a new side panel from ebay. I had to do some wiring changes to the bike as well. All in all I think I have a pretty good bike, runs great, starts easy, handles like a dream and is just plain fun to ride! Here are the pics!

Give me your honest opinion. Did I help it?

I liked the yellow. However, I am a fan of maroon as it is the color for Texas A&M. So, the new paint looks good to me.

If you would have seen the Yellow up close you would have changed your opinion. It was one of the worse paint jobs I have ever seen!

It is not maroon either, the pics did not turn out the best. The official color from PPG was Brilliant Red Metallic!

    Thanks!

I understand about the pics not showing the flaws. Interesting that the color reproduction of the Brilliant Red Metallic looked maroon in the pics.

Color aside, the paint works looks pretty good. When can you do mine?

LOL!! Thanks! I am fortunate enough to have a father-in-law with over 45 years in painting and body work.

He did all of the painting work. I did all the mechanical work. I still have some things I need to do but the bike is running great!

Could also shorten the windscreen, square it off to match the lines at the opening, then darken it. Either way I must say I like the new look over the old look. Good job!

Thanks guys! You will never believe what happened tonight, I was going in the garage to work on getting the windshield back on and was going to smoke it, only to find out apparently my daughter had accidentally moved something and caused it to fall breaking it in about 4 different places.

I guess I will have to swallow the cost of a new one!
