Time to put new tires on the 750 both front and rear. Looking for suggestions but would like to keep it under $250

Don't know what the prices would be now, but 4 years back I put Dunlop D404s' on my bike. They were $80 a piece and have been great.

Both tires on my bike are over 7 years old. The front (Bridgestone) has a ton of tread left but is rock hard and cracked. The rear (Kenda) has actually been a pretty good tire but is bald.

I thought about keeping the Bridgestone but with its age I think it needs to go.

See my post about buying new sneakers.
The Dunlop 404's were about $10-$15 more apiece then the Bridgestones I bought, they arrived today, woot!

I just got a Bridgestone S11 Spitfire to match my front that I've had for a couple of seasons -- replacing my Avon AM26 Roadrunner... should be interesting when I eventually get to ride to do some testing...

I can't wait to get the Bridgestones on.
I have an old Conti blitz on the back and an even older Conti tour on the front.
    It's gonna be great!

i put on a spit fire bridgestone last summer. excellent tire in every weather , great in rain. priced them from www.chaparral-racing.com for 113 usd for both f and r and on www.bikebandit.com for 115 usd. free shipping sometimes when they have deals. i think ill stay with the spit fires cause of the good reviews from other folks and the kind of mileage they get out of them. i have probably 6000 miles on my rear and still over half tread left.

lol, Rob, you procrastinator! didn't you see Mi carl's post, he now is a tire dealer, and needs to place a large first order, so he was selling them at 4% above what the dealer pays to cover some cost and shipping.

but i think it's too late, the deadline was like feb 28th or something

I ran Shinko's for a drag radial and Metzler's for my VMax otherwise. Loved 'em both.

Not me man; I have Dunlop K81-TT100s on the Norton, Dunlop D404's on my '81 and I just got a brand new set of AVONS mounted on the '83. (The wheels aren't even back on the bike yet.)

I just replaced a set of VERY LOW mileage 10-year old weather checked tires.

I've wanted to try a set of Avons since before I got the Norton and it never worked out. When I replaced the OE Bridgestones on my second SR, I went with ContiTwins. My Norton's always had Dunlops.

Fitz I agree they both have to go. Good thing about it though is the wife is letting my 11 year old ride with me this year. Told her I need 2 new tires and 2 new helmets just to be safe  She's on board :) :)

Hey guys new to this site, and new to the XJ's with my first 650 Maxim. I was wondering if anyone knew the widest tire I could put on the rear without any modifications?
