Are Maxim and Seca Gauges interchangeable?

I know that my 1982 Seca 750 has an electric tach and I believe the 1982 Maxim 650 also has an electric tach. What I am wondering is will these switch out without modification/little modification or is it unlikely.

I also wonder, are the tanks from maxims and secas interchangeable?

I like the look of the maxim tanks better for the bobber look I am shooting for.

I'm not sure about the gauges if you are talking swapping out a whole set not just part you may have a shot at it.
IIRC the tanks will swap and fit but the hold down in the back of the Seca tank is different from the Maxiam.

I wanted to swap out the whole gauge cluster. I found an article that seems to say that it would work fine but it is not clear.

What I don't like about the seca tank is it sits high off the frame at the back part. this makes putting a seat on it kind of a strange angle. I was thinking the maxim tank sits lower there and would be easier to fit a seat.

If the back mount doesn't line up is the maxim tank longer or shorter then the seca tank?

I'll take a stab at it...
I swapped the stock Seca (750) tank for one from a 750 Maxim and it fit perfect with no problems what so ever. I was even able to use the sending unit in the new tank for my fuel gauge (in the Scea gauges) when I did this. The tank doesn't sit any higher or look wrong on it. It fits just like if were on a Maxim (same mounting points front and rear)
Now I got rid of my stock gauges (the ug-a-ly square over sized boxy looking) and went with just a lone speedometer and no tach (don't need no stinking tach) with no problems to speak of.
As I removed the stock gauges, I labeled all the wires to help simplify installing the new gauge and indicator light setup. All the un-neccessary wires were labeled, sealed off and tucked behind the forks, under the front of the tank, just incase I needed to get at them in the future.
Now that I ridden without my old fuel gauge, I dug out the old fuel sending wires (which were labeled already) I am going to install a small fuel gauge I bought and get it to work with the old sending unit if possible.

This is a 750 Seca with a 750 Maxim tank on it.

That is a sweet bike. Where did you get the windshield at?

The windshield is a Memphis Shades Slim I had from another bike. I used the mounting brackets I bought at a local after market store made fo another brand of windshield (who knows?) It mounted to the handlebars on top and I used homemade arms to mount the bottom of the windshield back to the upper fork clamp bolts. It worked alright.
I've since changed that windshield to a Memphis Fats chopped windshield on it now. It's wider and shorter, which works better and looks better. I used the same mounts which worked out perfect.

You can kinda see the rod coming from the windshield to the handlebars in this photo (on the left) with a clamp that came with the rod:
