Got a 82 750 Seca which has been sitting for 10 plus years. Pulled the carbs and completley cleaning my question is that I pulled the float needle valve and the screens are stuck down in side. I can get them out the question is I am missing one siince the others came off should I just replace them and are they availalbe to buy? The other thing is I spent over a hour just to free up 2 main air jet passages in the bowl.

One I put a syringe in the hole and forced air the others will not free up. I have them soaking overnight in carb cleaner.

    Thanks..

See Chacal's list of parts. Len has most every thing you'll need to get those carbs up to snuff. Clean Clean Clean is the tick to a good carb rebuild. One of the other members is pulling his hair out over a cold start issue. Also see Ricks "Old School Carb Cleaning"

I Ditto the "Clean Your Carbs The Whole Nine Yards" write-up by Rick Massey A.K.A. - RickCoMatic! Soak those fuel bowls good and also look up Gamaru's write up on "Cleaning Your Enrichment Circuit Well"!

I asked the same question about the "Float Needle Seat Screen-Beanies" and was told from a very reliable source that it isn't necessary to replace them. Mine were at the point of deteriorating and were actually SLOWING the FUEL FLOW. I simply left them out when I rebuilt my carbs. Actually, my kit didn't even have them. Chacal has em in his rebuild kits if you want them! Check his catalog in the forum called XJ4 EVER - Supporting Vendor.

Guys, what do you think? Did you replace your screens when you replaced your needle and needle seats?

The aftermarket needle and seats don't have those beenie screens. I always put the new needles & seats in my rebuilds
