hot starting??

    hey guys my bike starts right up when cold and when ran hard and gotten warm it does i have to crank it longer then when it was cold. could this be a problem with my coils and if so were could i get a good set of aftermarket coils? The rest of the bike is great and runs top notch.

    Not sure, but here are a couple of thoughts.

    Pull one of your plugs when it is cold and put it in the boot and crank it looking at the spark. Once warm, pull the plug and check it again to see if it is still sparking. There are more precise ways to measure the ohms if you have a meter. Check the service manual for that.

    What is it that the wizards say? Spark, fuel, air.

    Which brings up something else to check. After it is warm and you crank it a couple of times, pull the plugs and see if they are wet. Maybe it could be something as simple as the plugs being bad.

    Sure there are other things that could be checked, but that is probably two I would take a look at first based on what you described.

    This might be a long shot, but check the heat range on your plugs and make sure they are correct. BP7ES if you use good 'ol NGK's

    i think i have BPR7ES IN THERE SHOULD I get just BP7ES plugs.

    make sure when the choke is off the plungers are all the way down
    the little fingers not even touching the plungers

    NO, some bikes have resitors in the boots, some use resistor plugs, the R in BPR7ES.
    Use what is called for by Yamaha.
