Exactly as it says. I got my bike to work. all four cylinders. Sounds great. But I noticed my petcock was leaking on my carbs and so I shut her off and checked it out. I tighten the base bolts and took apart the vaccum diaphram.
I put a washer in the in the hole behind the spring. Didnt work. I started my bike and it couldnt pull anything through in the ON position. It leaked a little in the prime position.
So i took it off, added a o-ring to the plunger, leaked like crazy... Ok. took that one oring out and the washer off and flipped the plastic thing between the gaskets around. Leaked in the ON position. Took everything out and put it back exactly the way I had it before I started messing with it, and hooked her back up. I put it in PRI and nothing came out. Didnt leak into the fuel line.
    So angry at this point.
I take off the Wave washer and whatnot and notice that the O-ring in there is torn a bit. I'm gonna go buy a new one now.
But what gives guys!? Why isnt my petcock providing fuel now?

Oh! what I forgot to mention is that the fuel only flows now when the lines are NOT hooked up. So when i attach the fuel line it wont flow into it. Grrr

It looks about the same. But my petcock doesnt have a drain screw. It stopped leaking, and now It actually works. But I still have a prob with the clutch

You either need a rebuild kit or a replacement - of course chacal has both

Definatly gonna buy a new one. Sometime soon. Its leaking from the Mounting Bolt, down onto the fuel connection, and thus onto my carbs. and dripping down to my exhaust. I've tightened that Mounting bolt a hundred times.. Its not a bad leak. Very small. But highly annoying.

It may be the oring that seals it. Givin the problems you have had a new one may be in order.

But in the mean time find some stuff called GOOP. Fuel proof sealant that works great.

SLKid... i had the same issues... what you are seeing is a combination of three issues. the petcock rebuild kit will solve two of them. the third is float related.... your not getting any flow of fuel due to the pressure in the lines..... hook up a drain hose to the drain hole on carb #1 and open up the drain screw... put the petcock into PRI position. if you still get no flow check the screens behind the float needles. if you removed them during your rebuild then make sure you installed your floats in the correct position ( MY Bikes PO installed mine upside down) then set your float height.

Oh it sucks fuel now. I should jsut close this post. Its just leaking now. From the Fuel Line Connector.
I actually thing something is Missing from my connector! I really dont like how it jsut slides gently into the petcock, not really "clicking" or anything. Its leaking from there, down to my vac diaphram and onto my carbs. Can anyone take a pic of their Fuel Line connectors and Tell me what I'm missing?? I'm jsut worried that one day it'll fall out while I'm driving.

My fuel lines were leaky, so I got new ones. Nice and tight.

Check this out though - The bike ran fine, with air AFTER the fuel filter.
Come to find out, the fuel filter was clogged, and because the fuel line was old and NOT that tight, it drew air in by the filter. JUST suction to get gas through the filter.

When I started trying my sync setup out, I bought 10 feet of 3/8" tubing from home depot (not really fuel line, seems to work fine) and ran it to the motor. Petcock on prime, WOULD NOT FLOW OUT OF PETCOCK. This is when I learned the fuel filter was clogged because it flowed free when I disconnected. Once the fuel was in there, the suction was just enough.

Time for a new filter! :)

I have never repaired a petcock completely, but isn't there an o-ring in there somewhere?
