I just bought my first bike, and it is rideable, but don't think I need the workout from push starting it all the time. What I really could use is a starter. The guy I bought the bike off of had bought a starter off e-bay, and when I put it on, all I heard was the grinding sound of a bad starter. Bummer. All I could find for a new or remanufactured one was one: http://www.motorcityreman.com/yaoe4b4d.html, but I don't really want to spend that much on a starter for a bike I got for one heck of a price. Anyone have one that they know does work that they would be willing to part for at a fraction of the price? Thanks.

Better make sure it is the starter. I am currently fixing a similar problem. I thought it was the starter but i pulled it out and the teeth were perfect. so i pull the motor, split the case. There are two idler gears in the starting system and both of them are missing teeth. The idler gear #1 that the starter spins was missing every other tooth for about an inch or so. The next gear, Idler #2 is missing every tooth for about 2 inches. So i originally thought it was just the #1 idler but now i need to order the #2.
