i dont like the big rectangular turn signals on my 750 or 900 secas...

i THINK i like the 550R turn signals because they appear to be square (and a bit smaller)...

is there any reason not to put the LED 'bulbs' in standard signals? i dont like 90% of the LED signals ive seen on the market. whats with the ovals and triangles anyway? why cant they make some simple square ones. of course there are the 'anti-mid-80s yamaha rectangle' ROUND signals but they wont go very well with my headlights...

The stock 550 Seca turn signals are about the same size as the stock 900RK turn signals....maybe a little skinnier front-to-back, but not by much........

Fitz made me start carrying some much smaller-but-similar style signals like he used on his 550 Seca:

I have the mini turn signals (all plastic) on my Seca and they look good. Mine are small rectangular ones and bright as hell. I never liked the stock Seca signals anyways. They are just plain ugly and way too big.

You have to watch when adding Leds. The Flasher on these bikes works off of the load the original signal lights draws. Adding Leds lowers the load and you get no more flash.

There is a whole thread in the mod section on how to properly make the switch.

You can use LEDs if you replace your mechanical flasher with an electronic flasher. I did this on a few bikes already. The "load equilizer" idea never made much sense to me. If your using LEDs to cut down on the load on your electrical system, then the load equilizer just adds it back on.
On my Seca, I have LEDs on the front signals and filiment bulbs on the rear, so there's enough resistance to make them flash.

    Ace...

    yeah, had that planned already...

and yeah i know the auto-cancel goes away (unless you do the super-mods listed in another post) but that doesnt really bother me all that much...

    thanks for the replies...

    Lou,
You can get an electronic flasher at any auto parts store that replaces your stock mechanical flasher. They don't as much juice to trigger them to flash as the mechanical ones do, so they usually work with LED lights.
