Grab a metric feeler gauge to check the clearances and make sure that it can gap small enough. from as little as .03mm or so. Valve shim tool from chacal, and a copy of Airhead Guide to Valve Adjusment Sticky post from the forums :) Make sure to read through the guide a couople of times before you start to make sure you have all the right tools and information. Not NEARLY as hard as many people(including myself) ever thought. Did I mention make sure to have the correct tools? Good Luck!!!

Before you do Valve Clearances ... you run a quick Compression Test.

You always do the Compression Test BEFORE doing the valve clearances.
You might find an Issue more important to deal with than a tight or loose valve.

Compression Readings are the most important Specs you need to know.

All cylinders should be within 10% of each other with no more than 14 psi between any two cylinders. The specs in the Haynes show max. 171 psi and 128 psi as min. with 156 psi being standard pressure.
Hope that helps and don't forget to ground the spark plugs or disconnect the TCI, you dont want to burn out the TCI!
