Does anyone have suggestions on lowering the rear end placing shorter rear shocks on XJ650Maxim? I am looking for some lower shocks that I know will bolt right on w/o mods. danny

I have bolted on shocks from a 1982 Kawasaki 305 with a few washers. It lowered it about 1.5 inches. Modify the front spacers for about an inch drop and it works well (depending on your weight, dropping the air pressure in the front forks to 6 or 7 Lbs and drop it about an inch as wellwhile you are on it.

    Now for the Problems:
    1. this low makes the bike stand up almost straight on the side stand (can be modified or just be careful where you park it)
    2. Makes it difficule to put on center stand.

    hope this helps.
