I cleaned the carbs and a fixed a few things like the clutch cable that was nearly unhooked. I drain the old gas and added fresh gas. Surprisingly it fired right up. I let it warm up and adjusted the idle. When I went to take it for a ride it died when I put it in gear. I searched through the site and found some threads on the safety switches. My seca's PO had removed the clutch switch and kickstand switch and butt connected the wires together. So I went out and cut the wires apart and when for a ride. It cuts out until about 2400rpm. The valves are noisy. I had to adjust the cam chain tensioner. Still needs a lot of work.

The valves are noisy. Thats funny. I know I heard that somewhere before...oh, yea on just about every post on valve noise. Seems these things were born with valve noise and will die with it too. Cool that your up and running now.

AWESOME! Now before you ride too far; check the rear brake shoes ASAP, and see how old the tires are.

I can't go very far with it. It doesn't have a tag. But I will check everything out to make sure the bike is safe for riding. I'll have to sit down and make a "TO DO LIST" for this bike. That is what I did for my maxim. Hopefully I will get my maxim back on the road this week. The parts I ordered from chacal should be here by Wed.

Ok fitz I checked the tires and the rear is 2001 and the front is 2003 so I will replace them when I get to that point. As for the rear brake shoes they will be replaced as well before this bike is ready to ride. I'm going get tires for my maxim first. The seca is probably going to sit in the corner of the garage until I'm finished with my maxim or it may become next winter's project. I thought I make a little video of the seca running.
