I am interested in disconnecting the kill switch on my kickstand, and I am guessing all I have to do is remove the switch. Do I snip the wires and leave them disconnected, or connected? It's an 82 xj 650 maxim. Thanks.

I have a 1982 400 maxim and the switch is just hanging right now. I do want to put it back on soon.

Connect the wires that go to the kickstand kill switch and that will bypass the switch for you.

Yep, they made it real easy, one wire is a male connector and one a female and they're offset. Unplug the switch and plug the two lead wires into each other. I left my switch on for authenticity.

WARNING: The angle and design of the kickstand is such that if you DO ride off with it down, it WILL NOT NECESSARILY just fold up the first time you turn left. You may wind up on your butt.

There is a reason Yamaha fitted the interlock. Defeat at your own risk.

Not recommended (although I'm guilty of it meself.)

I removed the sidestand switch and unpluged it under the seat. From reading above it looks like I need to disconnect another set of wires and plug the 2 together. Anyone know what I need to do to complete this circut.
