    In the Clymer manual, the "L" means blue, don't ask me why.

    L stands for Blue because B already stands for Black.

    The Gr could also be Gy either way it is Grey. Green is G.

    Here is a general guide to wire color coding for bikes.

    B=Black (ground)
    Br=Brown
    W=White
    Y=Yellow
    G=Green
    Gy or Gr=Grey
    L=Blue
    O=Orange
    P=Pink
    R=Red

    and some stranger ones

    Dg=Dark Green
    Sb=Light Blue
    Ch=Dark brown

    Also to be noted, anywhere this is a / between two letters it means that its is a (first symbol Color) wire with a (Second symbol color) stripe on it.

    I thought that was the pickup coil? But I know what you're talking about, those wires coming out of the left side of the motor.

    The pick up coil is on the left hand side, right on the end of the crank, the ACG(alternator) is (inside) the round object next to the starter below the carbs.

    Thanks guys. I've been working on it all day with that diagram and I'm getting nowhere :lol: :(

    The rectifier has got a green wire coming out of it and I don't know what it goes to. So far I've got the three white wires from the rectifier going to the ACG.

    I really have no idea how to make it any easier for you...we are talking only 8-9 wires total needed so I am not sure why it is so difficult. As far as the green wire, did you follow it to see where it went? does it have an adaptor on the end? A butt connector? Are you sure it is the rectifier you are looking at? The only green wires should go to blinkers or a green/yellow to the brake switch...I have no idea what you are looking at.

    I think I got it figured out for the most part, we'll see tomorrow hopefully I'll be able to fire it up.

    Spent the majority of both days on it. Got it to turn over this morning but wouldn't fire. Went back and realized I forgot to ground the rectifier and forgot to connect the red (hot) wire from the brainbox to the coils. Then when I did this now it won't turn over at all. :(

    I'm going to bed pretty pissed off tonight.

    So I'm 90% sure I have this thing wired correctly.

    And the bike turns over, but I'm not getting any spark. I checked my connections from the TCI box to the ignition coils and it's good, yet no spark. Any ideas?
