I got them off of ebay, just search for pod filters. All you gotta do is take of the airbox and put them on. Some say you have to re-jet when you do this but I've seen others say they had no problems without re-jetting.

I'm diggin' it man. I'll be re-fabbing some things on mine after looking at this build. Although I'm so close I'm going to finish it up and ride this summer the way mine is heading. Keep it up!

Number one is one the left side of the bike. ...left side when you are sitting on the bike facing forward. ....left side is the side with the shifter lever.

  Sorry to laugh but I had the same issue. I used my dremmel and cut that sucker out of there.

As for the small breather filter you can get one of those at Autozone or Pep Boys or your local autoparts store.

Anybody know if the ignition coils have to be grounded. The way I have them mounted there isn't really a solid connection against the frame.

Looks like I have a bad set of ignition coils

They worked before I started, but I got the circuit tester out and I'm getting power to the coils but no spark coming out of them. Can that happen when they're just sitting around?

Did you disconnect all of the electrical components on your bike before you did any welding?

Well I'm stuck. I've been trying to wire this thing and get it to start up for a couple weeks now and no dice. At one point it was turning over but not getting spark; now it's not even turning over. I've replaced my TCI box and my starter relay and still not working. I completely disconnected everything last night and tonight will start over again.

I'm getting a little discouraged to say the least.

this really sounds like a ground issue , did you check the kick stand saftey, neutral switch, kill switch? is there full power to the dash just nothing happens when you hit the start button?

Wow chopper, where you been? I like how your bike turned out. Man you change paint colors as if it was underwear, LOL.

Hey how is your bike running with the pods and straight pipes? What was your final jet sizes that you used?

Stock jetting man, it runs fine for me. I do go through paint colors a lot, LOL. But this is an entirely new gas tank so I didn't paint it. I just need to re-paint the rear fender to match.

Thanks guys for the positive feedback.

Nice bike chopper. What headlight do you have installed? I didn't see it mentioned in previous posts. Do you have it running straight to battery?

It's just a scalloped headlight I found on eBay. Yeah it runs on a switch straight to battery

I like the bars you eneded up going with in the end there. Where did you pick those up at? The seat too? Really nice clean looking bike. Oh, and what did you use to paint everything? motor, bodywork....?

The bars were made by slimsfab, most of the paint is rattlecan duplicolor. Engine and pipes are just high temp paint from autozone

well my xj seems to be traveling down almost the same road as yours and I'm having the same exact issue you did with your coils. Worked fine one day, then nothing. What was the issue if you don't mind sharing?

i've metered and tested every wire on the bike and everything checks out, I don't get it

How much did the bars cost? If they can do them for fairly cheap maybe I can get a set made as well.
