Quick question - I'm wiring in one of those Ford Model A lights on my xj bobber project. Does anyone know the correct way to do this so I have both a tail AND brake light?

Obviously get rid of the six volt bulb,
You could glue with RTV a socket that takes an 1157 bulb inside the housing.

Does it have two wires coming out of it? If it does, one wire is for brake light one is for runing light. The body of the light is the ground. Hook the wire up one at a time to a battery and see which one is brighter. If you dont have two, then ya got to replace the socket.

I have plans to put one on my 79 XS11 project. I have a tail light from a 35 Chevy, replaced the bulb holder with one for the 1157 bulb. New sockets are available at most auto parts stores.

Here's a tip for all old lights, or even cheap trailer lights.
Line the housing with aluminum foil- - it makes the brake light twice as bright, for free !!
