Ditto that Pictishusa, my fuse box looked sweet until I started working on it to swap to the blade type & it just fell apart.

    Alternator Brushes Inspection:

Remove Alternator Cover. 3 Allen Bolts ahead of the Starter under Petcock.
L@@K INSIDE on the back of the Cover.
Brushes are mounted in a Platform Mounted to Rear on the Inside of the Cover.

I second both of these recommendations and I have a thread that I started around here somewhere on the brushes. I knew I needed to check the them and I'd even bought new ones but hadn't gotten to it. The bike died on me in heavy traffic in a construction zone more than 3 hours from home. I spent several hours waiting by the side of the road for my rescue to arrive because I hadn't done about 45 minutes of maintenance.

After that endlessly long winter ... another thing everybody ought to do is: Pull the Battery and visually check the level of Battery Fluid in the Cells.
Most Battery's have a translucent case that allows tou to see the fluid level.

Those with Black cases have to use a light, yellow chalk and a Q-Tip.
Nip the end off the Q-Tip.
Color the paper stick with yellow chalk.
Stick the Q-Tip down on to the top of the Cell.
See to what height the fluid saturates the chalk.
Fill a cell to within 1/4 of an inch from the fill hole.
Using the eyeball or chalk method make then all the same.
