Looking to buy: Crash Bars / Engine Guards for '85 XJ700 Maxim (non Maxim "X" model...if that matters).

Please PM me if you have them for sale. Thanks.

Hey Dean, I might have what you need....but I'm not sure!

I have a nice set of original factory chrome crash bars off a 700-Xmodel, but I've never been able to verify whether the 700 non-X models use the standard XJ550 - XJ650 - XJ750 guards, or whether they use the XJ700-X style guards with the "stepped" flange bracket.

Of course, I'm not sure whether yours is an X or a non-X model?

Hi chacal, I edited my original post to specify that my bike is a NON-X model. I don't know about the differences either. I would assume that they are the same but who knows.

Any chance you can compare OEM part numbers between the 2 models to see if they match?

Hey Dean.....well, the problem is I have no reference material that shows what the original part numbers were! They were considered "accessory" items when new, and don't appear in the parts catalogs.........
