Has anyone tried the POR15 Glisten PC over polished aluminum surfaces?

    http://www.por15.com/GLISTEN-PC/productinfo/GPCGG/

I have polished a couple parts nice and shiny and I'd like them to stay that way for more than a week or two.

From what I have read and been told, standard clear will just peel off since nothing will stick to the surface.

I'm thinking I'm better off just putting a good coat of wax on it and call it a day?

for the price of that clear, I'd go with the wax. It always seems to work anyway. I've never cleared my polished aluminum, but even with my slack waxing they stay pretty good.

High polished a set of fork lowers and shot a coat of clear and they have held up great. The high temp stuff will work for engine cases but they have to be dead clean first. If you wipe them down with acetone before you shoot them they will stay nice much longer than if you use just wax. Down here close to the ocean I don't have much choice. The polished cases without clear turn furry in about 2 weeks without it

I sanded and polished my engine side covers about 5 years ago and they still look like chrome with NO clear coat on them. They stay shiny with no other added protection on them. I just wax them when I do the rest of the bike.

I'm going to leave most of the parts bare and wax, but I will also test a couple other parts that are a bear to wax.

Definately wiping them with acetone and will report back with results (in a year or two)
