Well my original side stand switch went out back in 84. Instead of replacing I I disconnected the leads at the plug and wire tied them all 3 togeather no issues. Well I bought one off ebay and installed it. Well, With the kick stand down in nuetrel no light, kickstand up light but no engine turn over. (CANT STARTBIKE) no gas tank. Then I took the wires back out of the plug light is on and bike turns over. Should this be happening?
I thought you had to tie the wires together to bypass the switch? Or will it turn over but not start without grounding the wires together?

I am guessing that I need to buy a new switch.
    Keith..

You do need to connect the blue/yellow wire to the black (ground) to bypass the switch. The green/blue is switched to black for the computer input and is not necessary to start the bike.

Robert thanks for the response, I plan on buying a new switch, just becasue of extra safety thing for my wife who will be learing how to ride. But in the mean time is there a way to bypass the switch so the nuetrel light is not on all the time even in gear. When I hooked all 3 wires togeather some years ago I always rode with green light.

I guess as an additional question.. does Chacal carry the SSS for the 750 Seca? I was looking on ebay and saw one that said it was for 650/750, do they use the same switch?

Mine's missing the switch entirely, and I'd like to get one and hook it back up (bringing the bike back to stock somewhat)
