the front ends on the XJ1100 and the XJ750 Maxim are very similar, so I don't see why it won't fit. The angle of the MC mount is the same, and so is the displacement.

The part number for the 1100 is a 10M-25850-00-00.
The part number for the 750 is a 10L/22R-25850-00-00 (82/83).

Seemingly identical part numbers, with the exception of the model identifier, so it looks good to my untrained eye. I say go for it.

The 1100 master cylinder uses small bore piston, since it only operates one front brake caliper (right front).

The 750M (1982 only) front m/c has a larger piston bore, since it operates both front calipers.

The bigger m/c should work okay in place of the smaller 1100 one, but not vice-versa........

    Brake switches are the same.

Low fluid sensors are different, may have to switch some harness wire connectors?

    RiderXJ,

Is your cylinder just leaking or is it pitted so won't rebuild??

The P/O put a master from another bike on it. I only realized it after I tried to get all the lights working that did not work, and there was no fluid sensor inside. I then noticed the clutch and brake lever were different colors. One Black and one silver. The brake light switch is also different. So I need the correct one that will work the fluid sensor to turn off the brake light on the dash, and operate the brake light.
I only heard the bike run (poorly) when I bought it.
