    Any ideas?

I do not have automatic cancellers, and I cannot see any part of my turn signals. Therefore I never know whether my signals are on or not.

I'm ALWAYS hitting the cancel button just in case I forgot to turn off my signals after a turn. I want to add a bulb to each side, and mount it somewhere visible. perhaps on the backs of the existing flashers.

I can handle the soldering, and the waterproofing, but I don't know what kind of bulbs to buy?

    A) Can I add LEDs to the incandescent circuit?
    B) If I add another incandescent bulb, will if mess up my flash patterns?
    C) Do I need a relay?

    A) Yes, just throw a 1k 1/4watt resistor between hot (12VDC) and the Anode (+) on the LED.
    B) Possible, never done it but the increased load might put some strain on your existing wiring. You might look at improving the size of the wires supplying the 12VDC.
    C) Not really but it can't hurt.

    B) Maybe. Depends on how many watts the bulb is that you add.
    C) No.

The way the stock indicators are set up on a lot of the XJ's is a single 5W bulb, like a 194 connected between the non-ground wires of the two sides' flashers. These bulbs are low enough wattage that they will light between the 12V from the side that's flashing and the ground provided by the non-flashing side's filaments.

If you have a place in you instrument cluster where you can add an indicator lamp, this setup might be an option.

Otherwise you could probably drill a small hold in the back of each of your front turn signals and tack in an LED to act a visual indicator for you.

    Thanks again guys.

I'm thrilled..... a new fuse box, and indicators installed on the same day.
