just got my bike running, and it will idle on enrichment but as soon as i hit the throttle or close down the enrichment it shuts off.

    *valves are SUPER (.2mm) loose
*no air leaks around manifolds or carb boots(checked w. propane)
    *Carbs zestfully clean.
*Mixture screws set to 2.25 turns out, but i have coarse threaded screws so im not sure if this is correct
*carbs bench synced... idle is set about as low as it will go
*battery good, new spark plugs, new air filter, clean oil

everything should be going, but it's not.
the bike has sat for 6+ months, so it might just need to come back to life gently.

    Any ideas?

    Wanna bet?

Sure sounds like plugged up pilot circuits.

Is it the same gas that has been sitting in the tank all that time?

    Moon,

the ones you squirted carb cleaner out of . Was that the ones in the bottom of the float bowls or the brass jets marked 40.

I am having the exact same problem. :(
Hopefully one of us will find the cause.
I am in the same state as you are, carbs are operating room clean, new plus, batt, oil, new gas, bench synced. It was idling, but after setting a bit, less than a week...nothing. Runs good, but as soon as I kick it off enrichment, *putter, putter, die*

Idle SPEED screw set too low?

Also, bench synch is great for getting the bike STARTED UP and running (even if poorly) after having had the carbs apart, running just well enough (which may mean: barely running, at all) so that you will have the opportunity to do a proper "running" or "real synch", along with the associated twiddling, fiddling, and setting of the idle mixture screws, idle speed screw, etc.

BENCH SYNCH: Get your motor runnin'.......

REAL SYNCH: Head out on the highway, lookin' for adventure, and whatever comes our way, blah-blah-blah, etc.

Use a Old Style "Glass Barrel" Fuse.
Using a Mechanics Scale Ruler for accuracy ...
Measure precisely 11/32nds from the End up the Metal end piece.
Scribe a LINE around the Fuse end at the 11/32nds mark.

Grind a nail, use a Razor Blade, make a Precision Scribe Mark you can see.

Use this Tool as a DEPTH GAUGE.

Place the END of the FUSE on the TOP of the PILOT MIXTURE SCREW and ADJUST the DEPTH of the PILOT SCREW until the SCRIBED MARK is absolutely EVEN with the FLAT opening at the TOP of the Carb Body.

    LMAO Chacal.....

Ok so you need to pull the air hats, mix screws, and the bowls off ... clean every direction on the upper fuel circut.

Like your maual says "blow out all passages with compressed air" now that said listen for anything that sounds different when doing it and you'll know which ones are clean etc...

I had that problem when I forgot to attach my Vac line. I'd let go of the clutch or pull my throttle and she'd die. No gas gettin to my carbs.
Another prob of that is cause I put a washer behind the spring in my petcock cause I thought it wasnt sealing properly, and it actually sealed it too tight and she wouldnt hold an idle. Check for leaks in vac lines? Maybe she's not getting her gas
