    Hello:

I have two cents to contribute on making the switch from your cable operated system to a handlebar mounted system.

This would also eliminate having to use the existing headlight mount if you wanted to go with a round headlight and some nice stainless headlight mounting brackets.

I would do this when replacing my lines with the stainless steel type.

The easiest thing to do it to replace your handlebars to eliminate the plastic covering. Get a handlebar mounted master cylinder that is adequate for two calipers. (Chacal carries some nice black ones at a reasonable price.) You would still have to get the separate anti dive lines that Chacal carries that attach from the caliper to the anti dive units.

Buy the double banjo bolt set up and attach your new stainless lines directly from the master cylinder to the calipers. A place called cycle brakes can custom make the right length lines for you in a variety of colors for what seems to be a reasonable price. I know you can also make your own, if you have the time.

For the right handle switches and throttle, I just removed the handle for the cable operated brake temporarily, but plan to get another switch which can be obtained from a salvage yard.

Chime in if someone disagress with me.

But I did not have the forsight and went ahead and bought the aftermarket stainless lines for use with the existing Junction from Chacal. After rebuilding the master cylinder, found that the plug was bad and was not a replaceable part. (Chacal will eventually carry it) So after all that we (at school) decided to go with the handlebar mounted master cylinder which is much more effective anyway. I found a line at school to run from the master cylinder to the junction. We found another junction at school and fabricated a little bracket to hold it where the existing junction was attached, then attached the lines to the calipers.

To save yourself some headache and have a much more streamline look, I would recommend the two line system.

    Just my 2 cents.

Yep been there and done that. :) best upgrade I ever made to my XJ750 Seca.

I just used a brembo (used) MC I found from a ducati and bought my lines from a seller on Ebay. I also swaped my throttle grips and ignition switch to one from a maxim. Had to do some rewiring, but was fairly easy.

I have both lines going to the MC, so no junction

I did all that after I decided to do a round headlight conversion.

ME TOO. I first got the SS lines and they were the wrong lenght, because after I measured and waited for my lines to arrive, I decided to lower my bike 2" in the front. So my lines where too long. Then the line fittings where suposed to be ordered 90* opposite of each other. Meaning that the fitting fits on the caliper at a different degree than at the MC so they have to be opposite of each other, but that's only if you're running both lines to the MC like in my case. Previous to all this I was just planning on a head light swap (for the round one) and bought the cafe brackets which mount on the shocks well it turned out they were too short, because the stock MC behind the square headlight was in the way and I could not bring the round bucket further back. So I spent more money for longer brackets, but although nice, they looked like gate hinges, lol. :)

That's when I decided to do the MC conversion....then I bought a cheap brembo knock off part off ebay, and that thing will not build pressure and had an airleak where the reservoir mounts. I got my money back though, even though the add said no money back no matter what!.

It was a headache and all I wanted to do was ride.

I'm just glad that is behind me now.

The bars and the end mirrors look real nice. Lots of mods that can be done with these. Lots to look forward to.
