My back brake lever was bent, so I took it off to bend it back. No problem there, but as soon as i took it off the splined piece it mounts to, fell "in", and now the lever wont spring back.

So can anyone show, or tell me where that big spring goes to, to spring the lever back? Heres pics of how it is now...

I can get you a pic/diagram but it will be about 4 hours from now I'm at work; bike in parking garage and books/camera at home.

The lug 'blue' needs to be the other side of the bolt 'red'

Wiz is right, the spring itself is in the correct position but has no preload because the lever crank is still out of position.

You're going to need to push the splined portion back in and rotate the bellcrank into the correct position as Wiz illustrated.
