So I took out my carbs to do a cleaning and clean the pilot jets. Now my ride runs at 10,000 rpm. Nothing seems to slow it down. It starts great but it howls like a banshee. What did I do wrong?

did you touch any other jets, maybe you switched the pilot jets for something else by chance (Main fuel or some sort of air jet)

Perhaps the throttle cable is hung up on the cylinder fins and not able to close fully?

Hooked up the choke / throttle cables wrong, i.e. switched.

Thank for the help guys .Yes my cables were reversed. Fixed that. I noticed that my throttle cable is shot, so I've ordered a new one. I'll let you know how things turn out.
