I'm hoping your mechanic is a certified amazingly aweosme super XJ Mechanic. No way I'd throw them my bike and cash to "possibly" fix a problem.

    WARNING:

Automotive Hose Clamps can RUIN an INTAKE Manifold.

The width of the Automotive Hose Clamp extends BEYOND the Thickened AREA on the Manifold that is designed to withstand the PRESSURE from the NARROW STOCK Manifold Clamps.

The EDGE of an Automotive Hose Clamp can SLICE THROUGH the Manifold during TIGHTENING >>>

    Plus:

The High Frequency of the Manifold Expanding and Contracting on the EDGE of the Automotive Clamp will EVENTUALLY cause the Clamp EDGE to wear through the UNPROTECTED Body of the Intake Manifold.

    $350

    The diagnosis/operations:
Main problem was 2 choke o-rings leaking, so it was drawing fuel from enrichment when idling.
Had 2 valves tight, 2 valves loose
    Head gasket was nearly dead
I put some nuts on the lower clutch adjustment in the wrong place, it was making the clutch slip; he fixed
He replaced my hose clamps with the stock clamps (they were unnecessary)

    New problems:
high beam doesn't work anymore, headlight modulator only works on hi beam.. Hope I can replace the bulb and it'll be better.
I noticed that I broke the plastic thing that makes the light come on for the front brake, hope thats an easy fix

As of now I'm considering this thread resolved, a big thanks to everyone who tried to help

Sounds like he did pretty complete job. Choke orings is interesting another endorsement for doing a COMPLETE rebuild with all seals when having problems. I know swapping the oring and washer causes issues.
