I know, I know, quit asking so many d*mn questions and go ride, but I'm here at work right now and can't go riding, so I just get to think about my bike all day. :)

The question of the moment is this, if your state doesn't REQUIRE turn signals to pass inspection, do your turn signals have to be DOT approved? I found some turn signals that I like, but they say that they aren't DOT approved.

I don't believe you will have any trouble if you use non-DOT in a state that does not require signals. But I'm not the law and don't have any education in this matter so my opinion is a fairly weak position. Call the Highway Patrol in your state and ask, they usually are more than happy to help someone do the right thing.

It's the luck of the draw...

I got stopped by a NY Trooper who wrote me up for having clear plate covers on my car. I did it so I could chuck them once a season and have a clean plate. But they say clearly on the package - for show or off road use only.

I got two other tickets in that jeep - no other cop said a word.

If the cops got an itchy tail you'll get a ticket for non DOT lights.
