I have an xj650rj and i need some help with the turn signal wiring inside the housing where the switch is. I found two wires that werent hooked up. they were a dark brown and a green i think they are the ground wires for the turn signals but i'm not sure. I just need to know where they connect to.

I looked up your model and it shows a Dark Green and Brown/White wire as the supply and return lines for your Right turn indicator circuit. I don't have a turn signal cluster sitting here but I can tell you the wires would be soldered to the turn signal switch on the left side (opposite the direction your pushing the switch) of the circuit board (that is assuming that a board is used, it may not). Best I can do off the cuff. I hope someone else has some pictures for you.

I have the super-duper handy-dandy Haynes manual laying open right next to my monitor.

I know of lots of websites (of course I'm being silly here), just depends on what all you want to see. I'm not aware of any that shows the electrical system for your machine, or mine come to think of it. There is a link for this nice fellow down in New Zealand who has tinkered with his voltage regulator/TCI unit but I don't think this would be helpful to you at this moment. Any chance you can snap a photo of your issue and post it?
