I was riding the bike home from baseball practice tonight (I coach) when the bike suddenly got, well, loud. I had just opened it up on the expressway when it happened. Really deep rumble. I wouldn't mind, but now it seems to bog down at low rpms. Checked the exhaust when I got home and didn't find any leaks. The right muffler is definately louder than the left, though. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You may have blown out your baffle. When that happens you reduce your back pressure and this can change the attitude of your engine.

So, is there any adjustments I can do? Or do I have to replace the muffler?

Just an update, found a temporary solution. Used some medium grade steel wool. Just unrolled it, then stuffed it into the holes the PO drilled in the back plate. A bit quieter, and she doesn't bog down at low RPMs now.

i had the same thing happen today it sounds like, i wasnt revving my bike really that hard but when i was returning from my ride i noticed it was bogging down and i had to keep it revved at stop lights, it would hover around 1000 rpm but i didnt let it go below that, i was wondering if it was a similar problem. I have a 81 xj 550 seca by the way
