Noticed something today. Got my 650 running well finally but while looking at and adjusting the carbs I noticed the carb to head boots pulse with the vaccum of the engine. Is this normal? Are they worn? They don't leak according to the spray test and the bike is running nice.

I don't have a great deal of exerpiance with bike motors though motors in general I'm pretty good with.

Mine does the same thing. I believe if you have no air leaks it should be fine. But if it is cracked or spitting really bad it would be best to replace them.

    Its NORMAL.
That's why you want to be sure that the Manifolds are attached to the Carbs with proper-fitting Hose Clamps.

Clamps that are ill-fitting and extend onto the area which pulsates will cause that Manifold to split.

Thanks. I thought as much. But figured I'd ask. I'd never noticed it like I said and was figuring something else might go wrong with it now that it's rideable again.
