All spring long, thunderstorms, slow soaking rain, drizzle, cold temperatures. In general, not good riding conditions. I've ridden a total of 5 times this year. All this until 2 weeks ago.

On the June 18th, I had surgery on my left elbow correcting an issue from 11 years ago(yeah, I know, but I hate docs). Anyway, got the bone spurs removed and excised the brsa sac, plus scraping the bone to remove calcium deposits. Not to mention all the infection in the joint.

Anyway, for the last 2 weeks it has been perfect riding weather!!! Mi/upper 80's, no rain, no wind to speak of, which is unheard of around here.

I am due to get the splint off on Saturday and the 10 day forecast calls for, you guessed it, rain dang near everyday. Scruitt, gonna ride anyway if the incision is good enough!!!

    D'OH!!

But who says you need sunshine to ride? If I waited for days where no rain was forecast, I wouldn't put 100 miles a year on my bike up here in Vermont. In fact, gloomy as the forecast has been here lately, I've been very lucky. (Knock on wood).

They make nifty bandages, by Nexcare I think, that are water proof. Really they are! Cover the incision with that just in case. And ride away my friend.

I have to admit I'm a fair weather rider. I have a truck - I don't need to get wet. But here there is plenty of great weather.

Good luck getting back in the game. Hope you ge3t some decent weather soon.

The bike is all I got if I didn't ride in the rain I wouldn't have a job. So it's no biggy ride away as long as your arm is ready.

I've got a truck and the bike. Winter or summer, nice riding days I take the bike. On the <30degF days, or when it is raining? I still take the bike. The only time I take the truck is if there is snow or ice on the ground.

Oh, and when it gets to the low 20Fs, the bike won't start then.
