Hey All... I just picked up a 1982 Yamaha xj650 Maxim on Saturday. Prepare to see me post all over this forum!

    Cheers!

Welcome! I am new here myself. It is a great bunch of folks that are just dying to help you get all you can from your XJ.

I bought an '82 XJ650 Maxim three weeks ago, and have been riding the tires off of it since. I have put just over 2000 miles on it. It runs fantastic, and has averaged just over 53 MPG for the time I have had it. I wish I had bought it 20 years ago!

    Enjoy yours!!

That's a nice looking specimen. Since I got my Vulcan 750 I have been able to compare each in an A-B comparison and although I really like the Vulcan for its many features I still have a greater fondness for my Maxim.
