Had this happen last year, thought or hoped it was a passing fad. Started the bike up, but every time I put it in gear, with the clutch fully in, it would kill. Checked to make sure the clutch was working and it seemed it was. After about 8 attempts, it went into gear and no further problems. I remember reading about this a while back, but bike no longer was doing this. Any thoughts?

Side stand switch. If the bike is in gear with the side stand down it will die. You switch is being flaky you can clean it.

You can take the rubber boot off and spray with contact cleaner. Builds up dirt and grime causing it to stick.
