Here are some of my findings on making/replacing an emblem

I got my bike missing a side panel.

I purchased an elusive right side panel, that was missing an emblem.

So I decided to attempt to make one.

After I find a good choice of material to use, the laser cut ones are the cleanest.

Acrylic seems to be a good choice but can't seem to find the correct thickness.

Not sure what kind of restrictions or legal issues would be involved with reproducing emblems they do not offer anymore, but I would like to see what the total cost would be to have a full set of emblems made.

Would anyone be interested in this type of thing?

Or Know who to contact for trademark licensing?

The first laser one we made from a scan of my side panel then lots of photoshop work.

Really nice job. You can contact Yamaha directly but I doubt they will give you rights to reproduce. They seen to be picky that way. They not given anyone rights to reproduce their books at least.

Of course you can make your own it's the selling that would be an issue.

The place in Australia that makes the repros gets around it by making them just slightly dimensionally different.

REALLY NICE WORK. Beats paying upwards of $40 if you can even find NOS.

So kinda what fits is sayin use the little bit different thickness. Make sure if you market them that you state it is an aftermarket repro Not original. Yammi woudl have to be hard up IMO to come after a guy offereing parts they no longer make.
