Hello everyone, i'm new this forum stuff and am not sure how all of this works. So i thought i'd give you a little history of what i'm up to and what i'm after.

i've got an 82 xj750j with an 81 xj650 motor in it. The story goes like this. The last owner of the 750 sent the motor to a bike shop to be freshened up. Well the shop shut it's doors shortly after and vanished off the face of the earth without finishing the work let alone returning the engine. So now this guy finds a good motor in a bone yard and looses interest in the whole project. Then i come along, scoop up this basket case, and start this project.
I've managed to get the thing running with the help of the wiring diagram for an xj650 that someone posted. I also have the owners manual for the 750 but the wiring diagram is only 75% intact, the other 25% has disintergrated.
So i was wondering if anyone has the wiring diagram for an 82 xj750j so i can button up the rest of the electrical system.

 

Welcome to the forum Killa. You can get a complete set of the XJ bike's Yamaha service manuals (in PDF format) by ordering the XJCD. Lots of great stuff in there. not only are the service manuals in there but, parts manuals as well. There is also a very handy cross reference of parts that will give you every bike that uses the part that you might be looking for, helps when you're looking for parts on eBay or the net. The price of the XJCD is only $10, just do a search for the link. I'm sure that if you've been lurking for a while that, you hear a ton of great things about the local parts guy, Chacal can get you just about anything that you could need for your bike. Congrats on your pruchase, hang out here enough and, you'll have your bike up and running like clock work.

Thanks for the tip. I'll use that as a last resort. I was hoping to get diagram for free.
