So ever since I got my 650 on the road my gf has loved going for rides on it. While I do enjoy riding it, it isn't nearly as much fun with someone on the back. Since her birthday is next month I decided to buy her an early birthday present:

I got it for $350 from a guy here who has warehouses full of vintage motorcycles. His collection is astounding, he estimated it to be close to 300 bikes, with maybe one or two newer than 1975. This one is a 1970 Honda CL350. It doesn't run, but the engine turns over, and it looks to be in great shape cosmetically. I figured it will be another fun project to add to my list of things to do.

Thanks Bill, I like it a lot. A small part of me is hoping she really really hates it so I can keep it for myself. I've already fallen in love with her over the past day, and damnit schooter, right when I was thinking I got a good deal for it you come in and bust my bubble like that :p

These bikes look absolutely stunning when restored. It is my dream to acquire one in a condition nearly as good as the one you got yours in Jonmarkos.

I love the old Honda Scramblers. If you restore this bike, you may want find a CL350 tank to replace SL350 tank shown in the pic. Cool that it still has the Scrambler pipes on it!

SUHWEET! Those bikes are bulletproof; great find and a really good starting point, it looks really complete.

Given the frequency with which we've been finding delaminated rear brake shoes on XJs that have sat, even clean ones, you may want to check that front brake right away.

Mestnii, the guy has more if you really want one and would like me to go check it out, I was not exaggerating when I said he has 300 old motorcycles in a warehouse. Danno, are you sure this isn't the original tank? In this picture that the guy sent me before I bought it
[IMG] It is sitting right next to another one and they have the same tank. There was a third one just a couple of bikes down and it also had the same tank on it. And don't worry fitz, I'll be replacing both sets of brake shoes on this, I gotta make sure my gf is safe on it.

I want to know why the petcock is on the right side. You'd have to take your hand off the throttle to change to reserve.

I'd be interested to see what else he has in the warehouse. Maybe I could find something nice like that.
